25 Years of Expertise in
East Asian Art
Some objects carry more than beauty. They carry time, craft, and the hands that shaped them. At Van Pruissen Asian Art we seek out these pieces - works of exceptional quality from Japan and the wider East Asian world - and bring them to collectors, institutions, and enthusiasts who recognise their significance.
Founded by Erwin and Anouk van Pruissen and rooted in over 25 years of specialist knowledge, we operate at the intersection of scholarship and connoisseurship. Our gallery, based in Arnhem, is open by appointment. Works appear regularly at leading European art fairs, including PAN Amsterdam and BRAFA in Brussels.

Our collection spans the full breadth of Japanese artistic tradition: arms and armour of the samurai, porcelain and ceramics, the miniature worlds of netsuke and inro, bronzes, modern works from the Meiji through Showa periods, and more. Each object carries its own history.
