Short Description
A tall cylindrical shippo vase with straight walls, set on a short, narrower foot and finished at the mouth and base with plain metal rims. The enamel is applied freely, without wire cloisons, and has a granular, speckled surface that shifts from deep ultramarine to pale sky blue, interrupted by patches of darker silvery grey. Across the body, overlapping lozenge shapes create a loose geometric rhythm, the most prominent of which are laid in gold foil. The foil is crinkled and textured, with fine vein-like impressions that recall the surface of a leaf, and breaks off irregularly at its edges so that the blue enamel shows through. A band of dark circular dots runs around the foot. The overall effect is painterly and tactile, with abstract geometry and natural texture held in balance.
